Thank You

Sue Lowden Thank you first and foremost to my family. They've stood by me since the day I decided to run for the United States Senate. They were supportive all the way, and in today's era of politics, that's a grueling commitment to make.

But they made it and I'm forever grateful for their love and loyalty, and their strength and support.

Today, I have no regrets.

I called Sharron Angle and congratulated her on winning our Republican Primary. I wished her well, and I meant it. As voters are expressing all across America, we need a change in what is occurring in Washington. Republican voters who showed up in our primary made a decision on who would lead our party towards November and I accept their decision.

Today I will return to my private life where I can re-dedicated myself to the things I've missed. This has been an experience of a lifetime for me.

I got to do the things I'm truly passionate about. Travel Nevada. Meet with people. Talk politics, business and simple, everyday life. We spent countless hours traveling thousands of miles across this beautifully diverse state, hearing the voices of a people eager for a federal government that is leaner, less expensive, more efficient and more effective.

Right now, Washington is broken. Republicans know it. Democrats know it. Independents and Libertarians know it. One person seems not to know it – and you, the voters, will have a say on him in November.

Finally, I want to thank my campaign team, my volunteers and my donors – and my life-long friends. Every hour and every call counts. Sometimes the voters break your way – sometimes they don't. We fell short, but it isn't because of a lack of effort. I was truly honored to have such a loyal, hardworking group of young men and women standing beside me.

So again, thank you and all my love to my family, my friends, my supporters – both north and south, east and west.

Through this wonderful life I've lived and shared with my dear family, one chapter now closes. But today begins another, and I look forward to seeing what's next in this pilgrimage called life.

Thank you.
